While many indicators seem to point to a bright future for Arconia, one critical piece of this infinitely complicated puzzle might just prove our downfall. This Febuary first of 0 (1/31/24) reveals that January was a good month for Arconia. We started our own calendar, had the first immigrant of the year, progressed on the path to building a seastead, and even took on a new government member. Yet amongst all this good, one thing has shown no growth at all. The Economy. With our GDP at a stunning 0, alongside our GNP and GDP(PPP), the government has no source of income. Since the only 2 people working in Arconia are both employed by the government this means our average wage/annual income is 0 Arconian marks. President Cartero Aldridge warns that without business in Arconia this problem may completely disable Arconia from ever reaching true sovereignty. He states "The economy is a circle. Money flows from people to business when they buy things and from business to people when they employ people. Without business this circle does not exist and without this circle the government has no way to secure reliable income leading to a complete lack of sovereignty." The government is now looking into producing Arconian marks by this summer to offer up a medium of exchange. On top of this talks are starting about some form of agriculture being started and tested on land to help kickstart the economy.
